IS THIS BASS REALLY STRONG ENOUGH??

Yesterday was friday, which could only mean one thing in the world of music...PIGEONS ASSEMBLE!! unfortunately one's in bath and one has a case of man flu. This set us back some what so we ended up just working out some sick riffs. Whats new? I hear you shout. Well this time, guess who'd taken over the role of bassist. Thats right, you've guessed it, yours truely. We worked out many bass riffs and I practiced some of the ones the band already has. It was all really cool and we made some really good progress with Me Wade and BigG. We've managed to make the most awesome of riffs. Wade is always on beat, BigG is on and off and I'm off and on. Together it all sounds awesome! All together it was a great session and we even employed Jiminez Cricket as our drummer for the evening, proving to be both benificial and side splittingly funny.

Ouch bro!

Gentlemen....
Today started so badly, I actually managed to injure myself getting out of, no wait, whilst still in bed. I was dozing away, happy as a pig in poo when suddenly Mike, My friend, sends me a message on facebook. Due to me being a massive spaz and leaving the volume fully up, I awoke to a really loud pop. This made me wake up and look at the screen quick. Possibly too quick! As I turned I had managed to pull a muscle in my neck. This was seriously mad gay! (Ricky, we love you) It hurt like fuck and in my pain i ignored Mike and jumped in the shower, hoping that water had developed some excellent medicinal value. It hadn't, unfortunately. This was all pretty bad but what made it worse was the walk down to work.Normally I enjoy the walking with my mate James who has an amazing power to fall over at almost exacly the same point almost every day. But alas, he'd broken his ankle (yes, by falling over) so the whole way i was grumbling and moaning to myself, which if i'm honest, I quite enjoyed. When I got to work we had to go out to Pennine Drive. By this time it was hammering it down with rain. My gel went into my eyes and I was so cold I never noticed I had cut my hand open twice (not badly, but i'd usually spot it) then i did some work and there was this right bitch who made me stand there and listen to all this shit she was giving me just 'cos I was from a company she dislikes. so Yeah, there I am, back in the showroom making a small puddle of rain in the office. At this point my neck went all mad stiff and fucked me over some more. Suddenly I found myself looking sideways at everything, which evidently, wasn't as fun as it was for the first minute. After a short trip to my GP for some awesomely strong painkillers I was on my way. The pain killers did fuck all so I had a bath and some food and am now lying in bed, which is awesome.

Oh, and the worst thing was, all mike had to say was: 'YOU SMELL' then I assume he signed off before I could reply. Man this pain was worth it...

The year in a sum up.

Now I have had to consult the calender for this, as I think I've drunk too much in the mean time.

January: started well I must admit. Had a good start back at college and Battery Powered was really starting to come to shape (finally). We got a kick start With the room upstairs, a complete success in every way. I remember me and Wade saying 'LIVE GIGGING IS AWESOME' I must congratulate wade again!! And thus begins my epic adventure with the newest addition of ricky!!

February: After the RUS Battery Powered had a new gusto! With gigs coming up left right and centre we were really hard at work kicking more ass than usual. Of course now with the new help of our main man, Ricky. This was also the birth of the most famous of words, PINEHOUSE.

March & April: These months merge into one with me, as there's not much happening! Well, More Battery Powered gigs came about and went, all appart from the fucking Venue gig were a complete success! Our fan coverage was growing daily! It really did look like we'd take Torbay by storm!

May: May was shit

June: With my birthday on the horizon I was really buckling down on my course. It was only now I realise how much of a dick I was regarding course work so I started kicking some serious Public Services ring piece. On the actual day of my birthday I went away for a Marines Assault course day Fucking brilliant.

July: July was gig frenzy. It had only just sunk in I had less than two months left of Battery powered, and more importantly, two of my best mates. We started really killing it every friday. July also meant a severe amount of college work spaced over the first week. But then the summer holidays began ;)

August: Normally a favourite of mine! Again, more gigs! the best one being Katrina's Birthday, which was awesome! Although mum managed to ruin that one ¬¬. Yes, My year has mainly consisted of Battery Powered.

September: Our final month as Battery powered. This was truely emotional. many fridays I found myself pretty pissed off that they wouldn't be around anymore, yet this brang about a new prodigy: Ricky and the Pigeons. Although at this stage it was still a thought. I did enjoy James' and Ricky's enrolment into SDC, it does make it good to see them daily.

October: With battery powered gone, It was up to RATPACK to take over. The first few sessions were rocky, but fun. We also managed to recruit a member called DD. And then it's a different story for another time

November: Unproductive as a whole. But it saw some good RATPACK times.

December: Bye Bye DD. That has left RATPACK without a singer, but fear not, we shall bounce back. This also meant christmas. The build up of which I don't enjoy. the day itself was pretty basic as far as Christmas goes. New years was amazing at the Bowers. Good to see Alan again!

That was my year. Pretty band related. Pretty basic.
